Imperial majesty meets modern verve in the heart of China
Plan your visit
Recommended stay4–5 days
Getting there上海から高速鉄道で約4.5時間。北京首都・大興空港が主要な入口です。
Good to know故宮と長城はそれぞれ半日以上の観光時間を。市内の移動は地下鉄が便利です。
Beijing pairs imperial monuments with a startlingly modern skyline. The Forbidden City and Temple of Heaven anchor the historic core, while hutong neighborhoods, Peking duck houses and a 24-line subway make the city surprisingly manageable for first-time visitors. Most international flights land here, so it is the natural first stop on a China rail itinerary.
Top sights
- Forbidden City — The world's largest palace complex — book timed tickets online in advance (passport required) and allow at least half a day.
- Great Wall (Mutianyu) — Less crowded than Badaling, 1.5 hours from downtown, with a cable car up and an optional toboggan ride down.
- Temple of Heaven — Ming-era ceremonial complex surrounded by parkland where locals do morning taiji — go early for the full atmosphere.
- Summer Palace — Kunming Lake, the Long Corridor and hilltop views — the most pleasant half-day escape from the city center.
- Hutongs around Nanluoguxiang — Surviving alleyway neighborhoods with courtyard homes, snacks and small cafes; best explored on foot or by rickshaw.
- 798 Art District — Former factory zone turned contemporary-art quarter with galleries, bookshops and coffee — Beijing's modern side.
