Getting there北京・西安・鄭州から高速鉄道。鄭州が主要な拠点。

Henan is the cradle province — the Yellow River's floodplain holds the Shaolin Temple, Longmen's Buddhist grottoes and four ancient capitals. Zhengzhou is the fast-rail hub; Luoyang and Kaifeng are the rewarding old cities either side.
Top sights
- Longmen Grottoes — UNESCO cliff-face of 100,000 buddhas above the Yi river — floodlit evenings are spectacular in season.
- Shaolin Temple — The birthplace of kung fu — monastery halls plus a full performance theater and forest of pagodas.
- White Horse Temple — China's first Buddhist temple (68 AD), with an international zone of Thai, Indian and Burmese halls.
- Kaifeng old city — Song-dynasty street theatre, night markets and the Millennium City Park reconstruction.
- Henan Museum — Zhengzhou's world-class bronzes, jade and Han relics — among the best provincial museums anywhere.

Where to stay
Luoyang for two nights (grottoes + Shaolin are both day trips); Zhengzhou for pure transport.
Good to know
- April peony festival doubles Luoyang prices — book a month ahead or go shoulder season.
- Shaolin: the temple is compact; the kung-fu show (¥100–150) and pagoda forest are the real draws.
- Night markets peak 7–10pm — Kaifeng's is the province's best street-food classroom.
